about.

iGrad is a financial wellness platform for students and young adults. Its financial literacy courses were among the most visited parts of the platform, so the Courses Hub was a key place to help users learn. I was the product designer on the redesign, working with a PM and a developer from research through handoff to development.

challenge.

The Courses Hub was disorganized, which made the course library hard to browse. Nothing encouraged users to discover new courses beyond the one they came for, and the interface looked dated. The goal was to simplify the library and give users a reason to keep exploring.

results.

After extensive user testing and weekly design huddles with the team, I redesigned the Courses Hub to simplify the library and make courses easier to find. Testers struggled to choose a course to start with, so I added a recommended section that points new users to beginner courses. The final designs were handed off to development.

After handoff, I took the idea further with a personal concept that added light gamification to encourage users to take more courses. Progress tracking showed users how far they had come in a course, and streaks rewarded them for coming back regularly.
